What is it, and why is it important? Malibu Treatments

Do you have hard water?  If you live in DeWitt, Piatt, or Champaign counties you do.  These areas not only have hard water, but it's classified as Very Hard Water.

Okay, but what does Very Hard Water mean to me?  So many things, we don't have time to mention them all.  So today we will focus on what it means to your hair.

Hard water means that your water has a large amount of naturally occurring minerals in it.  You know that brown water or rust stains in your sink, that color is from the minerals in the water.  When you wash your hair in this water the minerals build up on your hair strands and your skin.  This can cause your skin to feel itchy and dry.  Those minerals that cause the rust color in your sink, can also cause rust color in your hair.  So for those of you that color or lighten your hair and hate that red tint, it's the mineral build up!

What can you do about the mineral build up and get that rust/red out of your hair?  Get a Malibu Treatment, especially BEFORE any color or chemical service.  I can't stress this enough, the minerals damage your hair and when mixed with color or perm solution cause an unwanted chemical reaction.  This chemical reaction can change the color of your hair, prevent color from adhering to your hair, and worse yet, can cause multiple levels of damage to your hair.  Have you ever gone to get highlights with foils and even though you weren't sitting under the dryer the foils and hair seemed to be getting warm?  That's from the chemical reaction with the unwanted mineral build up in your hair.

Don't let cost be the only determining factor in who you choose for your hair and chemical services, a Malibu Treatment adds to the cost and time of your service, but it's well worth it.  It's like an insurance policy for your hair.

Here's the link to my blog about Malibu treatments from 2016 with more important information for you. https://sarahreynoldsspa.blogspot.com/2016/01/jan-19-2016-what-is-malibu-treatment.html Please take the time to read this blog.  Next time you schedule your hair appointment, book a Malibu Treatment too, you'll be glad you did.  If you get a Malibu treatment on a regular basis, the follow up treatments will not take nearly as long as the first treatment.  The first treatment takes about an hour, follow up treatments will only take about 30 minutes.  If you have additional questions or concerns, please contact me and I will be happy to help you.
